This week is filled with exciting new releases across the African music scene and beyond.

The Cavemen. drop their third studio album, Cavy In The City, which sees the Highlife revivalist duo exploring a more contemporary, urban sound after their highly acclaimed earlier works.

Picking up the thread of reinvention, Mr Eazi offers Maison Rouge EP. Named after the Cotonou villa where it was recorded, this project is positioned as a full-circle return to the minimalist, sauntering Banku Music sound he pioneered a decade ago, made more resonant by his focus on themes of love and loss following significant personal milestones.

Elsewhere, UK pop artist Cat Burns shares her second album, How to be Human, an intensely personal collection forged from a difficult year of simultaneous heartbreak and processing the profound loss of her grandfather.

The Alté scene gets a key co-sign with Genio Bambino and Cruel Santino linking up on the new single, “Wait,” which further establishes the genre’s key producers and artists. Seyi Vibez continues his prolific run with “How Are You,” while Abuja rapper PsychoYP delivers “Let’s Go,” another high-energy addition to his trap-infused catalogue.

New collaborations from Flavour and Baaba Maal (“Afroculture”), Salle (“Love From The Nineties”), and Phyno (“Ask Of Me Now”) complete a standout week for African music.
