Elizabeth Oshoba, renowned as Nigeria’s Queen of the Ring, has brought joy to numerous faces by securing victory in the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Featherweight Championship held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Born on December 23, 1999, in Nigeria, Oshoba displayed a passion for sports, particularly boxing, from an early age, setting the stage for a remarkable journey in the field.

Her foray into boxing commenced with participation in amateur competitions in Ogun State. The 24-year-old won a gold medal for Nigeria at the African Zone 3 Boxing Championships in Cameroon, a 2019 All African Games bronze medal in Morocco, and a 2022 Commonwealth silver medal in the Featherweight division, gaining recognition and laying the groundwork for future success.

Oshoba then relocated to the UK in late 2022 to continue her boxing career.

The peak of her career occurred in 2024, when she made history by winning the WBC Silver Featherweight Championship in Copenhagen. Her opponent, Michela Braga of Italy, was defeated in a decisive match, marking a significant milestone for Oshoba and Nigerian boxing.

From the beginning of the actions, Elizabeth showed her best boxing and quality, dominating Braga. The judges’ scores were 88-82, 87-83, and 90-80, all in favor of Oshoba.

She improved her record to 7 wins and 4 knockouts, while Michela lost the first fight of her career, leaving her with 6 wins and one loss.
