Nigerian singer DOTTi The Deity hosted an exclusive album listening party at Crust & Cream in Victoria Island, Lagos, on June 9. The event celebrated the launch of his latest project, Madam Dearest PT. 1. The guest list included notable figures such as the legendary music producer Cobhams Asuquo, known for his work on numerous Nigerian hits, and Wizard Chan, who collaborated on the project and shared in the excitement of the event.

Born Okeowo Oladotun Alani, DOTTi The Deity grew up in Ibadan, where he began showings his musical talents at age six. He later studied Music Technology at the Polytechnic, Ibadan.

DOTTi’s sound is a genre-bending mix that throws back to the golden age of Nigerian folk music while still feeling fresh with modern jazz, soul, and pop thrown in. His official music career began in 2019 with the single “Jolly Christmas,” following earlier attempts while living with his grandfather in Lagos.

This was followed by his debut EP, Songs in Isolation, inspired by the 2020 pandemic.

After a string of live shows in 2022, he released the well-received single “Forever Sweet,” a beautiful ode to enduring love.

DOTTi the Deity’s dedication to his craft goes back much further. He’s spent years building strong relationships within the industry, collaborating with established artists like Omawumi and Cobhams Asuquo, and even sharing the stage with veterans like Rotimi Keys, Sir Victor Uwaifo, and Onyeka Onwenu.

Coming on June 14, the 11-track album, Madam Dearest PT. 1, features acts like Reminisce, Simi, Falz, Wizard Chan, Vader. listening party ended on a high note, with palpable anticipation for the album’s full release.
