Lenny Kravitz To Executive Produce Seun Kuti's New Album

Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, following their performance at the 2024 UEFA Champions League final, has announced that Lenny Kravitz will executive produce their upcoming album. This highly anticipated release is scheduled for a global drop on October 4 through the independent Milan label Record Kicks, distributed by Secretly Distribution.

Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has become a force in his own right. Carrying the torch of his father’s revolutionary music, Seun delivers well from his artistry, constantly pushing the boundaries of Afrobeat while honoring its legacy.

Kravitz’s involvement is definitely a thing to watch out for as the multi-instrumentalist and musical chameleon will bring a fresh perspective to the project. According to a press release, Seun “expresses deep gratitude towards Lenny Kravitz for his unwavering support and guidance throughout the project, describing Kravitz’s involvement as a demonstration of brotherly love and respect.

The team is also bolstered by legendary producer and engineer Sodi Marciszewer, who played a crucial role in shaping Fela Kuti’s sound.

Further, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 are heating things up with a brand new tour. Following a two-year hiatus, the Afrobeat artist and his band are hitting the road for a North American adventure spanning 18 dates.

The tour, presented by Django Music, kicks off on June 8th at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival and wraps up on July 28th at the Nelsonville Music Festival.
