Rema Tops Spotify with Nigeria’s Most-Streame

Three weeks after its release, Rema’s “Baby (Is It A Crime)” is dominating streaming charts, officially becoming the most-streamed Nigerian song of 2025 on Spotify with over 14 million plays.

The song’s success is further highlighted by its impressive daily streaming numbers. On its release day, it garnered over 2.1 million streams, followed by 1.3 million on the second day, and continued strong with nearly a million streams daily thereafter.

As of February 24, 2025, “Baby (Is It A Crime)” leads the Spotify charts with 14.28 million streams, surpassing other Nigerian hits such as OdumoduBlvck’s “Pity This Boy” featuring Victony which has amassed 7.5 million streams. Gospel music is also enjoying mainstream success, with Lawrence Oyor’s “Favour” pulling in 6.6 million streams.

This milestone comes as Rema prepares to embark on his highly anticipated HEIS World Tour, which kicks off on April 11, 2025, in Edmonton, Canada. The tour will take him across North America, Europe, and Asia, including major stops at Madison Square Garden in New York, The O2 in London, and the Afro Jam Festival in Tokyo. Additionally, he is set to perform at Coachella across both weekends.

At the 17th Headies Awards, he leads the nominations with nine nods, including Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Producer for his work on “Hehehe.” His music video for “Charm”, which he co-directed, is also nominated for Best Video Director.
