Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 housemates Mensan and Sultana have become the first confirmed finalists of the “10/10” edition of the long-running reality TV show.

Mensan secured his place in the finale after Big Brother announced him as the Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) on Monday, September 22. The announcement, made on Monday afternoon, came just before the housemates commenced the Head of House (HoH) Challenger game.

The MIPOW is a new title introduced this season. Each week, housemates vote for the contestant who has contributed the most energy, effort and entertainment to the house. The winner receives immunity from eviction as their reward.

This marks Mensan’s second MIPOW victory of the season, having first won the title in Week 4, which also earned him immunity. In addition, he benefited from another reprieve in Week 6 after finding the Red Envelope containing an immunity card, making him one of the season’s biggest beneficiaries of immunity.

Meanwhile, Sultana also booked her place in the finale on Monday after winning the HoH Challenger game, which granted her immunity from the next round of evictions.

The outcome was a setback for Faith, who had won the HoH Challenge on Sunday, September 21, but failed to defend the title against challengers less than 24 hours later.

With just one more live eviction show before the grand finale on October 5, Mensan and Sultana’s immunity wins guarantee them a spot in the final. Both were visibly moved to tears after their victories. For the remaining 11 housemates, however, their route to the finale may depend on surviving Monday night’s nomination process or securing viewers’ votes.
