Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston declared this special day in a statement released from Houston, Texas on Friday. The proclamation stated, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.” Mayor Turner emphasised that this prestigious honor bestowed upon Davido by the city of Houston highlights his profound contributions to the music industry, both in Nigeria and on the global stage.
