With the successful second edition of Moonshot, TechCabal has solidified its place as the front-runner in Africa’s tech ecosystem.

In less than the 365 days that make up a typical year, TechCabal has successfully executed two editions of Moonshot, its two-day flagship conference that brings together key stakeholders — policymakers, founders, emerging and established talents, startups, and enterprising companies — in Africa’s tech ecosystem. As one of Africa’s leading tech media companies, excellence has always been synonymous with TechCabal’s offerings since its inception over a decade ago. However, Moonshot, an audacious concept in the literal sense, has further solidified this reputation following the conclusion of its second edition on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

From hosting the Future of Commerce conference two years consecutively, TechCabal revamped its flagship event into the all-encompassing Moonshot in 2023. The inaugural edition garnered an impressive 87% event rating from the over 2,600 attendees and 85+ speakers representing 12 countries at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, where it was held between October 11–12, 2023.

Though detailed feedback and figures from this year’s edition haven’t been made public yet, it undeniably delivered an experience that delighted the senses of attendees.

At the same venue, Moonshot by Techcabal, between Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10, hosted over 75 speakers. Among them were Dr Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy;  Sunil Natraj, CEO of Jumia Nigeria; Founders Connect’s Peace Itimi; multinational tech content creator Fisayo Fosudo; Layi Wasabi; Chowdeck’s Femi Aluko; and the founder/CEO of Afrobeats Intelligence, Joey Akan. These thought leaders and other prominent figures in – and outside – Africa’s tech and digital space engaged the audience through nine content tracks covering critical sub-sectors.

The two-day conference catered to participants at all stages of their interests and journey. From fintech to commerce, energy, Web3, AI, telecommunications, and the creative digital economy, Moonshot 2024 successfully delivered on its promise to unite Africa’s tech ecosystem by providing a platform for collaboration, networking, sharing insights, and introducing innovative solutions to the continent’s pressing challenges.

Although the conference has concluded, Moonshot 2024 isn’t over just yet. Off-site workshop sessions, aimed at equipping tech enthusiasts with opportunities to explore new career paths or enhance their skills, will take place from Friday, October 11, to Saturday, October 12, at designated centres in Lagos and Abuja, as previous attendees and would-be first-time attendees eagerly eye next year’s edition.
