Mayorkun, Nigeria’s Afrobeats maven, has just dropped a fresh track, “Innocent,” featuring none other than Fireboy DML. The release has been anticipated, especially after Mayorkun shared an Instagram photo with Fireboy, captioned, “How bad do you want it?”

The track was primed to be a crowd-pleaser and the buildup was well worth it, as “Innocent” presents a first-time collaboration between two of the genre’s most talented voices, now out via Sony Music West Africa.

The track expertly marries Mayorkun’s delicious cadence with Fireboy’s lush, silky timbre, delivering sharp rhythmic hooks that lock into the groove, making it an earworm that demands repeat spins. The production, expertly helmed by SperoachBeatz, is rich but unforced, layering a tight Afropop groove with just enough space for each artist to bring out his best.
