Asake Wins Best African Music Act at 2024 MOBO Awards

Asake won the 2024 MOBO award for Best African Music Act, beating out tough competition from Ayra Starr, Rema, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tyla, Davido, etc

Nigerian superstar, Asake, won the 2024 MOBO award for Best African Music Act, beating out Ayra Starr, Adekunle Gold, Rema, Uncle Waffles, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tyla, Davido, and others.


Though Asake wasn’t present at the awards, he gave his thanks to the audience through a short video.

The 2024 ceremony, hosted by Indiyah Polack and Babatunde Aléshé, was held in Sheffield. Ghetts, Sugababes, DJ Spoony, Cristale, Byron Messia, King Promise and Camidoh performed live sets, along with Soul II Soul, who were given a lifetime achievement award.


The Album Of The Year award was won this year by British rapper and songwriter Potter Payper for his record Real Back In Style. Ghetts accepted the inaugural Pioneer Award. Rapper Little Simz took the win in the Best Hip Hop Act category.
