Asake’s sophomore album, Work of Art, made an impressive debut on the Billboard World Album Chart, securing the fourth position this week. Within its first week, Work of Art achieved nearly 13,000 sales in the United States alone, showcasing both the album’s widespread popularity and the devoted following of the artist. Furthermore, the album soared to the top spot on the Apple Music Top Albums chart in the United Kingdom, while securing the third position in the United States.

Asake’s debut album in 2022, “MMWTV,” reached the 66th position on the Billboard 200 chart. This remarkable feat solidified it as the highest-charting debut album by a Nigerian artist in Billboard history. “MMWTV” also hit the second position on the Billboard World Album Chart and attained a spot within the top ten on Apple Music during its initial week of release. In addition, the album set an impressive record by becoming the African album with the most streams on its release date, a recognition bestowed by Apple Music.

It is safe to say that Work of Art is poised to meet and potentially surpass the standards established by its predecessor, “MMWTV.”
