Afrobeats star Burna Boy is venturing into filmmaking with his first project, Three Cold Dishes, a thriller about three teenagers who were sold into the sex trade and reunite 13 years later to plot their revenge.

Burna Boy works as an executive producer through his company Spaceship Films, which he co-founded with his mother. The film is directed by Asurf Oluseyi, a talented director with a background in award-winning short films. He won the 2016 AMVCA award for Best Short Film for A Day with Death.

Oluseyi will collaborate with a production team including Ifind, Alma Productions, Asurf Films, Martian Network, and Black Mic Mac, a company known for promoting African and Middle Eastern talent.

The movie casts talented Nollywood actors including Osas Ighodaro, Wale Ojo, Femi Jacobs, Ruby Akubueze, Brutus Richards, and Greg Ojefua, alongside Ivorian actors Fat Toure and Maud Guerard, and Senegalese actors, Amelie Mbaye and Mentor Ba.

The film is among the list of a dozen projects Black Mic Mac is working on. The production company is building a strong slate that showcases the talents of African storytellers and the lineup includes, The Devil Inside, The Three Rascals, Apophenia, La Sape, The Great Transporter, The Cage and Let The Earth Burn.

Three Cold Dishes promises to be a powerful exploration of a critical social issue, with Burna Boy lending his influence to raise awareness.
