2025 promises to be another blockbuster year for international cinema, with a lineup of highly anticipated titles spanning various genres, from action-packed adventures to heart-stirring dramas and modern reimagining’s of classic tales. Film enthusiasts can look forward to iconic superhero sagas, thrilling sequels, innovative adaptations, and fresh takes on beloved narratives.

Here’s a sneak peek at the top 10 international titles to mark on your calendar.

 

10. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera

Directed by Christian Gudegast, who also co-wrote the screenplay, the film stars Gerard Butler reprising his role as Detective Nick O’Brien, alongside O’Shea Jackson Jr., 50 Cent, Meadow Williams, and Michael Bisping. In this sequel, O’Brien travels to Europe to track down Jackson Jr.’s character, the mastermind behind the original heist and becomes entangled in a new high-stakes operation. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera will debut on January 10, 2025.

 

 

9. Mickey 17 

 

Film: 'Mickey 17' promises to be a rollercoaster.

 

Based on the novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton, the story follows Mickey, an “expendable” human employed on a colonization mission who is regenerated with his memories intact after each death, leading to existential and ethical dilemmas. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17 is set for release on March 7, 2025. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and Steven Yeun.

Film: Brad Pitt and Damon Idris in 'F1'

 

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film stars Brad Pitt as a veteran Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport to mentor a promising rookie, portrayed by Damson Idris. The plot delves into the high-speed, high-stakes world of Formula 1 racing, exploring mentorship, competition, and redemption themes. F1 will debut on June 27, 2025.

 

 

7. How to Train Your Dragon

 

Film: 'How To Train Your Dragon' is back.

 

How to train your dragon will be released on June 13, 2025, as a live-action adaptation. It is directed by Dean DeBlois, who also wrote the screenplay. The film stars Mason Thames as Hiccup and Nico Parker as Astrid. The story follows the bond between a young Viking, Hiccup, and a rare dragon, Toothless, as they challenge societal norms and seek to bring peace between humans and dragons.

 

 

6. Thunderbolts
