Taking the top spot for this week’s episode of Fresh Out, rising alternative Afro-soul singer-songwriter Emmi Edwin delivers her breathtaking debut Lavender Letters EP. Released in collaboration with the CBA for Africa Talent Development Programme, the acoustic-led project is carried by raw intimacy, soulful storytelling and personal experience, highlighted by the stunning lead single “Let Me Be”.
Following her previous releases such as “Ima” (2026), “Peace” (2024), “One Day” (2023) and “Stay” (2023), as well as live performances including Johnny’s Room Live (2024), the Akwa Ibom-born, Port Harcourt-based act is ready to cement her place as a reckoning force in the industry with her ever-evolving Afro-Soul sound.
Within the hip-hop scene, Street-hop emblem Olamide makes a surprise entry with a street-party record, “Burukutu”. It serves as the lead single of his forthcoming studio project, Time & Space, scheduled to drop on November 16, 2026. Matching the energy is Plutomanian president Shallipopi, who has unveiled a solo, featureless 3-track EP titled WayWard. Anchored by the clever, web-address-inspired single “.com” and the space-themed track “UP (Transovania),” the project highlights his signature unhurried cadence over thick, log-drum-heavy production.
The hip-hop scene keeps moving as ODUMODUBLVCK and 6uff join forces to deliver absolute chaos on their record, “Salt”. The track layers hard-hitting rap bravado over heavy, punching instrumentation.
Rounding out this week’s episode, Chella displays his signature infectious melodies on the well-crafted new groove, “Pretty Nun”. Cross-continental boundaries blur beautifully as Caribbean duo R. City links up with Afrobeats’ megastar Ayra Starr for the emotionally uplifting record “Pray”. Mavo drops the high-status groove “Goyard”, and Mannywellz and Odeal melt hearts on their smooth R&B joint effort, “Cry On You”. Other releases include Samad’s “Time” and King Promise’s “Melody”.
