Some of the Coolest Events that Made Decembounce 2024 ‘Detty’ AF

If there’s one thing Lagos knows how to do, it’s throwing parties, specifically in December, when the city becomes a chaotic carousel of music, culture, and unbridled revelry. Hence, the phenomenon of Detty December has solidified Lagos as a global entertainment hotspot where locals and visitors alike prepare for weeks of non-stop parties, concerts, and cultural experiences. The anticipation builds for months, fueled by social media buzz, artist announcements, and the collective yearning for a release after a long year.

This year’s Detty December really tried to live up to the hype even though the festive fervor came with a high price. The surge in demand led to a hike in prices across the board — from accommodation to transportation, and of course, event tickets, making participation a more considered decision for many and compelling merrymakers to strategize their revelry. In fact, Lagosians swapped traditional clubbing for a wave of raves, house parties, and experiential events. Nevertheless, the inconveniences did little to dampen the spirits of those determined to have a good time.
