Wizkid recently hosted an exclusive listening party in London for his highly anticipated album Morayo, a project that marks one of the most personal releases of his career. The event followed closely on the heels of a similar gathering in Paris on September 29, where he was joined by collaborator Brent Faiyaz. The London party, themed “For Females Only,” attracted a packed house of enthusiastic fans and industry friends.

The album, named after his late mother, celebrates her legacy while reflecting the artist’s journey through grief and self-discovery. Wizkid shared during the event that this album is a tribute to the woman who inspired his strength, and it aims to spread joy, much like the Yoruba meaning of the name “Morayo”—”I see joy”​.

In the lead-up to the album, he teased a single “Pieces Of My Heart,” with American R&B star Brent Faiyaz — an emotional, groove-laden track expected to impressively mash up Brent’s hazy vocals with Wizkid’s smooth delivery.

Set for release later this year, Morayo comes with massive expectations. Wizkid has always had a gift for evolving his sound, and Morayo seems poised to follow that trajectory. After the genre-bending success of More Love, Less Ego, this album promises a different kind of depth, showing a side of Wizkid that fans rarely get to see.
