Giannis Antetokounmpo put on a historic performance on Wednesday night, scoring a career-high 64 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 140-126 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Antetokounmpo‘s performance broke the Bucks’ franchise record for points in a game, which was previously held by Michael Redd, who scored 57 points in 2006.

It’s a great feeling. It’s a great feeling, being able to do it,” Antetokounmpo said.

“As much as I can, I try to play basketball for the right reason. I try to play basketball to win, try to play basketball to help my teammates be great, but at the end of the day, being able to break this record in front of the fans here in this stadium, it’s a great feeling, too.” Antetokounmpo said after the game.

The Greek-Nigerian was efficient in his scoring, shooting 22-of-29 from the field (75.9%) and 16-of-17 from the free-throw line (94.1%). He also added 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.

Antetokounmpo’s performance was not only historic for the Bucks, but it was also historic for the NBA. He became the first player in NBA history to score at least 20 field goals and 20 free throws in a game while shooting at least 70%. He also had the highest point total with fewer than 30 field goal attempts in NBA history.

Damian Lillard contributed 21 points for the Bucks.

The 39-year-old’s performance is sure to be remembered for years to come. He is quickly becoming one of the greatest players of all time, and he is only getting better.
