Davido and Vybz Kartel to Headline 2025 Summerjam Festival in Germany

Davido and Vybz Kartel have been announced as headliners for the 2025 Summerjam Festival in Germany, one of Europe’s longest-running reggae and dancehall festivals. The event will take place from July 4 to 6 at Fühlinger See in Cologne, bringing together an exciting mix of international artists and music lovers.

This announcement comes as Davido prepares to release his highly anticipated album 5ive on April 18, 2025. Ahead of its release, Davido has already dropped two singles: “Awuke”, featuring Jamaican dancehall star YG Marley, and “Funds”, a collaboration with Chike and ODUMODUBLVCK. He is also set to release another single, “Be There Still”, on March 15, 2025.

Joining the Afrobeats megastar on the Summerjam stage is legendary Jamaican dancehall artist and “World Boss”, Vybz Kartel, who will be making his first European performance in over 20 years. Despite being incarcerated for over a decade, Kartel has continued to dominate the dancehall scene with new releases and an enduring fan base. His appearance is highly anticipated and will be a historic moment for the festival.
Beyond the two headliners, Summerjam 2025 will feature an impressive lineup spanning multiple genres. Festivalgoers can expect thrilling performances from Shenseea, K.I.Z, Beenie Man, Alborosie, and Morgan Heritage, among others. Morgan Heritage’s set will be particularly meaningful, as it will be their first Summerjam performance with Jemere Morgan as lead vocalist following the passing of their frontman Peetah Morgan.
Reggae enthusiasts will also be treated to legendary acts such as Inner Circle, The Skatalites, Third World, Mr. Vegas, and Junior Kelly. Meanwhile, the festival’s commitment to diversity is evident with a strong presence of German-speaking artists, including Max Herre & Joy Denalane, Irie Révoltés, GReeeN, Paula Hartmann, Ennio, and Curse.
