The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have announced this year’s nominees, highlighting some of the best films in African cinema.

Leading the nominations is Seven Doors by Femi Adebayo, with nine nods, including Best Movie and Best Lead Actor for Adebayo’s performance. Close behind is Lisabi: The Uprising, which received seven nominations, including Best Lead Actor for Adedimeji Lateef.

Another strong contender is Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, earning five nominations, including Best Lead Actressfor Bimbo Ademoye. In the same category, Chioma Chukwuka also received a nomination for her role in Seven Doors.

 

In the Best Supporting Actor category, Gabriel Afolayan (Inside Life) and Richard Mofe-Damijo (Christmas In Lagos) are among the standout nominees, recognized for their outstanding performances.

 

The AMVCA 2025 continues to celebrate the best of African storytelling, recognizing talented actors, directors, and filmmakers who are shaping the future of the industry.
