Beat FM rang in 16 years with a celebratory brunch held on September 13 at the Wings Office Complex in Victoria Island, Lagos. Organised in partnership with Sony Music West Africa, the event embraced a prom theme, mixing music, nostalgia and fashion into an evening that highlighted the station’s role in Nigeria’s media and entertainment scene.
The gathering brought together industry executives, artists, influencers and broadcasters for an intimate yet energetic celebration. DJ Spinall headlined the night with a special set, joined on stage by performers including Wande Coal, Wurld, iLLBliss, Guchi, Ajebutter22, Soundz, Dera, Amara and Kemuel.
Senior figures from Beat FM’s parent company, Megalectrics Limited, were present, including Managing Director Chris Ubosi and General Manager Deji Awoka. The station’s on-air personalities — Osi Dirisu, Taymi B, Biola, Nicole and Eve — mingled with guests, alongside Naija FM hosts Joy Panam and Godwin, media personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, and producer Krizbeatz.
Sony Music artist Morravey, who was crowned Prom Queen, previewed her upcoming single with a live performance. Her set added to a night that balanced star power with a celebratory spirit.
Food and drinks flowed throughout, supported by sponsors Castle Lite, Monkey Shoulder and LUC Belaire, who kept guests supplied with cocktails and champagne.
Closing the night with music and laughter, the event reinforced Beat FM’s reputation as a cultural hub.
