Rising Nigerian singer-songwriter Amara has released his debut single “Me & You”, marking his official entrance as a solo artist under Sony Music West Africa. The track introduces the 23-year-old’s genre-blending sound, drawing on Afrobeats, R&B, and pop influences to deliver an intimate, emotional love anthem.

Produced by Nigerian hitmaker Ozedikus, “Me & You” is a melodic celebration of romantic connection, loyalty and peace. Sung in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin, the track combines layered percussion with warm vocals, showcasing Amara’s ability to blend strength and vulnerability in his delivery.

“‘Me & You’ is about gratitude, for that one person who brings you peace,” Amara shared. “It’s about cherishing love that feels safe and real.”

The single sets the tone for Qupid, Amara’s forthcoming six-track EP, which is expected to explore themes of love, heartbreak, and emotional growth. While the full project will navigate both highs and lows, “Me & You” introduces a softer and more joyful side of the artist’s sound.

Before stepping into the spotlight, Amara, real name Nwaigwe Daniel Amarachukwu Figo, built a name as a songwriter, contributing to work by artists including Adekunle Gold, Mayorkun, Gyakie, and Kelvin Jones. His lyrical sensibility and melodic instinct have shaped hits behind the scenes, but now he is telling his own story. “Writing for others gave me the courage to find my voice,” he said. “With this single, I’m ready to show the world who I am.”
