Less than 24 hours after Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 housemate Zita hurled food at fellow contestant Rooboy in a fit of anger, Big Brother has meted out punishment.
On Friday, September 26, Zita received a double strike for violent conduct. House rules forbid physical aggression, which normally carries the risk of immediate disqualification. Zita, however, escaped the harshest sanction. With two strikes now on her record, one more will automatically send her packing.
The clash occurred late Thursday night, just before the housemates headed to the garden for their weekly party. Zita and Rooboy had been locked in a heated argument after she accused him of failing to apologise directly to her for a mistake that cost their team in a game. Rooboy insisted he had already apologised to the group, but Zita felt slighted, demanding a personal apology.
The quarrel quickly spiralled into insults. Frustrated, Zita flung the food in front of her at Rooboy’s face. He immediately retaliated with a slap, sparking one of the most explosive confrontations of the season. But he was spared any punishment because he was not the aggressor. Zita later apologised to Rooboy and the entire house for her violent conduct.

This is not the first time housemates have crossed the line this season. Earlier, Bright Morgan — evicted last weekend in a surprise twist when host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu showed up in the house after the Saturday Night Gbedu — received a double strike for attempting to hit Kayikunmi and making violent threats.
Yet, punishments have been inconsistent. A few weeks ago, Faith went unpunished after apparently hitting Imisi with a pot during a tussle over the pot, a decision that raised eyebrows among viewers.
With just over a week left in the season, tensions are running high. Thirteen housemates remain in the race for the ₦150 million grand prize, set to be won on Sunday, October 5. Three contestants — Sultana, Mensan, and Kaybobo — have already secured their spots in the finale. The rest will face the axe during the last eviction show of the season on Sunday, September 28.
