5. “How Far” – NO11, Ayjay Bobo ft Monochrome 

At the start of 2026, we predicted this year would be a takeover of underground artists. NO11’s late December release “How Far” featuring Ayjay Bobo and Monochrome justified this claim. The Amapiano record gave the rapper-singer a boost in becoming one of the fastest-rising artists this year.

The song’s catchy chorus and infectious beats easily made it an instant hit that exploded on social media, racking up over 21.6 million streams on Spotify and peaking at number 10 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Songs chart.

6. “Chanel” – Blaqbonez, Asake

For a long time, listeners waited for what a Blaqbonez and Asake link-up would sound like on a track. It’s safe to say the duo delivered rightly on “Chanel.” The result of this collaboration is its record-breaking over 10 million streams on Spotify in just 13 days, establishing it as the biggest rap song of the year.

8. “Aura Salad” – SSSoundgawd, Mavo 

SSSoundgawd’s “Aura Salad” in collaboration with Mavo is yet another record delivered by the younger generation acts that served as the year’s club anthems. Since he gained stardom in 2025, Mavo has relentlessly kept his run with a plethora of releases. The highly-anticipated “Mofe” enlisted among this fast-rising star among this year’s hitmakers.

The mid-tempo single rapidly gained traction, catapulting it from a viral snippet into fans’ favourites. A song about luxurious lifestyle and ambition, Mavo gives the younger generation yet another catchy record with aspirational undertones.
