Ayo Edebiri, a Nigerian-American actress, writer, and comedian, took home the award for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her endearing performance in the FX dramedy, The Bear.

Her portrayal of Sydney Adamu, a young chef navigating the fast-paced and demanding world of a Chicago sandwich shop, was loved by audiences and critics alike. She beat out nominees like Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, and Natasha Lyonne.

The Bear  was nominated for five awards and won three last night, including Jeremy Allen White for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy and Ali Wong for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Movie.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer dominated with five awards from eight nominations, while Barbie, despite leading the pack in nominations, received only two golden awards.

HBO’s series Succession continued its reign with four wins, and Killers of the Flower Moon saw Lily Gladstone’s transformative performance recognized with the Best Actress (Drama) award.
