Afrobeats Grammy-nominated star, Asake, is wasting no time in 2024, blessing fans with his first single of the year titled “Only Me.” Dropping just over the weekend on his birthday, January 13th, the track marks a great return after his critically acclaimed sophomore album Work Of Art dominated 2023.
“Only Me” is a classic Asake tune – magnetic Afrobeats rhythms weaving in and out of his signature silky vocals. The lyrics, as always, are personal and reflective, hinting at navigating the highs and lows of fame and success while prioritising peace of mind, hardwork and resilience.
2024 holds more for Asake. On February 5th, he’ll be aiming to win the coveted Best African Song Performance at the Grammy Awards for his hit “Amapiano” featuring Olamide.
