Burna Boy

Burna Boy has set a new benchmark for Nigerian music, becoming the Nigerian artist with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100. His sixth entry on the chart comes from Coldplay’s “We Pray,” which features him and British rapper Little Simz, debuting at No. 87 on the chart.

Among these entries, “Last Last”— a reflective breakup anthem — remains his highest-charting single, peaking at No. 44 and staying on the chart for 19 weeks.

Other significant entries include “Sittin’ On Top of the World” featuring 21 Savage and “Talibans II” with Byron Messia.

This accomplishment puts him ahead of other major Nigerian stars who have also made significant strides in the global music scene. Burna’s closest competition among Nigerian artists is Tems, who has five Hot 100 entries, including her No. 1 debut on Future’s “Wait For U.” Wizkid follows with four entries, highlighted by his feature on Drake’s “One Dance,” which also reached the top spot.

Meanwhile, Rema’s “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez peaked at No. 3, setting the highest chart position for an Afrobeats single. CKay’s “Love Nwantiti” peaked at No. 26, Fireboy DML’s “Peru” remix with Ed Sheeran hit No. 54, and Davido and Lojay appeared on Chris Brown’s “Sensational,” reaching No. 94.

This feat not only solidifies Burna Boy’s dominance but also reflects the expanding footprint of Nigerian artists in global music spaces. With each chart entry, he and his peers continue to push Afrobeats into new territories, reshaping the global soundscape and making Nigerian music a relentless force in the international market.
