13 Nigerian Women-Owned Businesses that Deserve Your Support

If there’s one thing Nigerian women do well, it’s proving — over and over — that innovation, resilience, and sheer brilliance aren’t exclusive to any gender. The country boasts the world’s highest proportion of female entrepreneurs, with approximately 23 million women commanding 41% of micro-businesses nationwide. Furthermore, women own 40% of small businesses in Nigeria, proof of their pivotal role in the nation’s economic sphere. However, they continue to face an uphill battle. According to PwC Nigeria, women receive significantly less funding and support than their male counterparts.

Despite these systemic challenges such as limited funding opportunities and gender biases, women continue to innovate, create jobs, and drive economic growth. For instance, initiatives like ImpactHER have empowered over 130,999 female entrepreneurs across 54 African countries, equipping them with digital skills to thrive in today’s economy.

So, this Women’s Month, let’s go beyond just celebrating, let’s actually support. Here are some of the most exciting Nigerian women-owned brands to support now and always.
