Burna Boy, Ayra Starr & Little Simz to Perform at Glastonbury Festival

Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Ayra Starr are set to light up the Glastonbury Festival in June, joining a lineup of international talents like Little Simz, Shania Twain, Janelle Monae, SZA, Dua Lipa, and Coldplay. They’ll be gracing the Pyramid Stage, the most iconic stage at Glastonbury. This marks a great moment for Afrobeats, a genre that continues to explode in popularity worldwide.

This is Burna Boy’s third return to Glastonbury. His previous appearances include the festival’s 50th anniversary in 2020, where the African Giant shared the stage with Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. Ayra Starr makes her Glastonbury debut, validating her rapidly growing international recognition after thrilling audiences at Dreamville Fest, Coachella, and Athens Festival in recent years.

The Glastonbury Festival is widely beloved and has a rich history. Founded in 1970 by Michael Evis, it has always prioritized the audience’s experience and has attracted over 200,000 visitors in recent years to the hilly community it is named after. The festival has a tradition of featuring remarkable African artists, including Youssou N’Dour, Angelique Kidjo, Seun Kuti and his Egypt 80 band, Tems, and Sampa The Great. This year’s event will run from June 26 to 30 at the Worthy Farm Festival in Somerset, U.K.
