Basketmouth Sets November Release Date for His Cinematic Debut ‘A Ghetto Love Story’

Basketmouth launches into the big screen with 'A Ghetto Love Story'

Nigerian comedian with the stage name Basket Mouth has announced November 22nd, 2024, for his first cinematic debut. Titled A Ghetto Love Story, the feature film is a collaborative effort between Basketmouth and co-writer Victoria Eze. 

 

Via social media on Friday, October 25, 2024, Basket Mouth shared the official release date across cinemas nationwide and the official trailer.

 

Also directed by Basketmouth, A Ghetto Love Story boasts a star-studded lineup, including Akah Nnani, Beverly Osu, Wale Ojo, Patience Ozokwor, Nkem Owoh, Mercy Johnson Okojie, Bright Okpocha, Daniel Etim Effiong, Genoveva Umeh, Dorathy Bachor, Bethel Njoku, Vandora, Ehiz Dadaboy, and Romeo WJ.

 

 

 

The film aims to celebrate the resilience and resourcefulness of communities often pushed to the margins. With a realistic touch, the story explores themes of socioeconomic disparities and societal biases while diving into the complex nature of human connection through a blooming love.

 

This isn’t the comedians first taste with film as he ticked his directorial debut with the movie The Exorcism of Alu in 2019. He has also acted in comical TV series which include Papa Benji, The Flatmates and Ghana Jollof.

 

A Ghetto Love story as also been selected for the upcoming African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), where is will make its world premiere.
