Bounce 89.1FM

This Friday, January 24, something exciting is happening as Oroko Radio is stepping into Bounce Radio’s turf. Bounce 89.1FM has always been the ultimate plug for what’s fresh, forward, and defining culture across Africa. So, it tracks that they’ve teamed up with a platform as equally cool and disruptive as Oroko Radio.

Based in Accra, Oroko Radio is a not-for-profit radio station that’s focused on uplifting African and Diasporic creatives. Home of Afro-electronic sound elements, house beats, and underground sounds, it exposes music  that push the envelope of what West African music can be. Even more, the platform is a community-driven storytelling hub that celebrates African culture and creativity. It accommodates 18 residents based in Lagos, including DJs, talk show hosts, and cultural curators.

This event will feature two prime-time slots on Bounce 89.1 FM. First up is the Drivetime Show (5 PM – 9 PM), hosted by Moni and KD, who’ll get the party started with their charm and witty banter. Then, the Nightcap Show ((9 PM – 1 AM) will keep the vibes going with hosts Faozy and Babbz.

As part of this takeover, Oroko’s Lagos resident DJs are stepping up. Here’s who you need to look out for:
