Nominees for Grammy Awards 2024

The Recording Academy has announced its nominees for the 2024 GRAMMYs, taking place on Sunday, February 4, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The list of nominees features Nigerian music stars Davido, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and South African music act, Tyla.

For this edition, the Recording Academy introduced three additional award categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.

Davido, Olamide, Asake, Ayra Starr and Tyla, all first time nominees, were nominated in the Best African Performance category.

Burna Boy is no stranger to the Grammys. He’s been nominated in previous years, right from 2019, and he won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021.

This year, the African Giant got nominated in four categories: Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Music Album for his latest album, I Told Them…,” Best Global Music Performance for his contribution on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, “Alone” and Best African Music Performance for “City Boys.

Davido trails closely behind with three nominations — Best Global Album for his album, Timeless, Best Global Music Performance for his song “Feel”, and Best African Performance for his fan-favourite “Unavailable.” Davido’s Timeless has truly been a total game-changer for the artist. Released earlier this year, the album keeps adding major positive and substantial changes to his career.
