About two years after the release of his critically-acclaimed debut EP, LV N ATTN, with one of Nigeria’s beats masters, Sarz, Lojay finally unleashes his long-awaited sophomore EP titled, Gangster Romantic. The project is a 7-track collection of Lojay’s sonic abilities and his dexterity at mashing up different tunes for an intriguing listening experience. The EP is enhanced with credits from major players in the African music industry such as DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.

Last year, his amapiano banger and the fourth track on Gangster Romantic, “Canada” with Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa amassed support from Rolling Stone as well as the likes of DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra. “Leader!” also garnered recognition from several radio stations and fans worldwide, with support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DJ Target, and Apple Music 1’s Dotty.

On this EP, Lojay satisfies all the high expectations prepped from the beginning of the first track, “Yahweh”, to the last one, “Ova”. Although the EP can be rendered an evocative exploration of affairs of love and romance, it also contains smashing party bangers to keep the groove popping.
