Wizkid and Tems Join Beyoncé to Win NAACP Image Awards

Nigerian superstars, Wizkid and Tems, represented African music by bagging significant awards at NAACP Image Awards Ceremony.

Wizkid and Tems Joins Beyoncé to Win NAACP Image Awards

The 54th edition of the annual NAACP Image Awards ceremony kicked off virtually and winners of the ceremony were announced on Monday night. The week-long event was held to celebrate black excellence in art and entertainment. Nigerian superstars, Wizkid and Tems, represented African music by bagging significant awards.

 

Tems won the “Outstanding International Song” category for her song “No Woman No Cry” from the film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She also won the “Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album” award for her contribution to Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up”. Wizkid picked a win for “Best Contemporary Collaboration” for his feature on Chris Brown’s “Call Me Everyday”.

 

Beyoncé took home the most awards, including “Best Female Artist”, “Best Soul/R&B Song” for “Cuff It”, and “Best Album” for Renaissance. She and Kendrick Lamar both had the most nominations in the music recording categories.
