Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio recently featured rising Nigerian rapper, PsychoYP, who sat down for a chat with the hosts, Ebro and Nandi Madida, about his latest album, Osapa London, which dropped on July 14th, 2023.
The young Abuja-bred rap prodigy found his musical passion early on, channeling it to create his distinctive rap-sung trap style, which he first unveiled in his debut EP, Lost In The Sauce (2016). Since then, PsychoYP has been on fire, snagging nominations at big-time awards and even winning the Clout Africa Award for Best Hip-Hop Artist in 2022.
“I’ve been championing hip-hop culture since I was 19, getting on the cover of Rap Life is such a massive win for myself, my team, my family and my fans!” PsychoYP tells Apple Music. “I feel like it’s go time for me and the right time for the world to hear PsychoYP. ‘Osapa London’ is a project that connects my style of rap with the Afro influences in my music. Many would say this is the most Nigerian version of me that they have heard.”
Rap Life Africa serves as a companion to Apple Music’s flagship hip-hop playlist, Rap Life. Rap Life Radio has a bunch of other treats lined up, including bangers from Nasty C with “No More” and Indigo Stella with “Another” from her highly-awaited debut album, Interstella.
