The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) celebrated the best in African film and television, with Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors and Abdullateef Adedimeji’s Lisabi: The Uprising emerging as major winners.

Seven Doors earned Femi Adebayo the Best Lead Actor award and Chioma Chukwuka the Best Lead Actress prize for her role in the same film. The movie also won the Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa) and Best Music/Score awards.

Lisabi: The Uprising also had a successful night, clinching awards for Best Makeup, Best Art Direction, and Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa). Adedimeji Lateef was also recognized as Best Lead Actor for his work in the film.

Other notable winners include Gabriel Afolayan for Best Supporting Actor in Inside Life, Mercy Aigbe for Best Supporting Actress in Farmer’s Bride, and Kayode Kasum, who received the Trailblazer Award. The Industry Merit Awards were given to veterans Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh.
