Beyond aesthetics, the platform will welcome a deluge of new content, expanding its library with acclaimed partners like Universal Pictures, NBC, Peacock, Sky, and DreamWorks Animation. Showmax’s CEO, Marc Jury, stated, “2024 is a big year for Showmax. We will be kicking it off with a content slate packed with world-class entertainment from the world’s biggest brands plus more African Originals than ever before and the first ever mobile Premier League plan for Africa.”

Alongside African productions, a powerful roster of international content highlights will be available. Mission Impossible, Spider-Verse 2, and Halo Season 2 lead the charge, with acclaimed dramas like Lawman: Bass Reeves and Found. Classic NBC comedies like The Office and Parks & Rec complete the picture, while HBO fans can await House of the Dragon and The Last of Us sequels.

The platform will leverage the robust infrastructure and scalability of Peacock’s engine, marking a synergistic collaboration that elevates Showmax’s capabilities.

This collaboration also translates to savings for customers. The new app comes equipped with fuel-efficient features that allows you binge-watch for hours without draining your data budget.
