Once again, Burna Boy validates his status as a global superstar by selling out Germany’s Mercedes-Benz Arena. He packed out the 17,000-capacity venue for the European leg of his I Told Them… Tour.

This accomplishment, the first of its kind for any African artist, serves as the crowning achievement of a year that saw Burna Boy solidify his position as a global music icon.

The Berlin concert joins a growing list of iconic venues that Burna Boy has conquered. Earlier this year, he became the first African artist to headline a stadium concert in the United Kingdom, selling out the London Stadium. He repeated this in the United States, packing the massive Citi Field stadium in New York.

His latest project, I Told Them… contributed to putting him on the 2024 GRAMMYs nominations list where he appears in four categories: Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Music Album, Best Global Music Performance for his contribution on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, “Alone” and Best African Music Performance. The album also helped in his recognition as the first-ever African artist to debut at number 1 on the UK albums chart.
