Live theatre returns to the stage at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos, on March 1, 2025, with another iteration of TALP X, an ongoing initiative by the Terra Academy for the Arts dedicated to platforming stage plays in Nigeria. This edition of the production presents Laali and Bottom Power, both running in two segments with afternoon and evening showings scheduled at 2pm – 4pm and 5pm – 7pm.
Laali offers a sharp dramatic reflection on womanhood, following the lives of women who have moved through barriers designed to contain them and carved out paths of their own.
The production highlights themes of resilience and identity, bringing personal and political struggles to the forefront. Bottom Power, in contrast, turns to humor, following a young woman who upends societal expectations in unpredictable ways.
The Terra Academy for the Arts continues to build a reputation for championing live theatre at a time when stage productions remain an underrepresented art form. The plays, Laali and Bottom Power, will be held at Terra Kulture, a long-standing hub for theatre, art, and cultural showcases in Lagos.
