Veech Confronts Growth and Groove on ‘Round the Clock‘

On Round The Clock, Lagos-born singer and songwriter Veech (aka Badmanveech) delivers a debut EP that wears its heart on its sleeve—but keeps one eye on the dancefloor. A sleek, genre-blurring collection of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul-pop, the project positions Veech as part of a new wave of Nigerian artists balancing emotional nuance with club-ready production.

One of the big themes of the project is romance, more specifically, sweet-talking and wooing a love interest. Veech plays the role of a calm, caring romantic, using soft melodies and laid-back vocals to express his feelings. Tracks like “Memory Lane” and “Destiny” show his range, moving between vulnerable lyrics and catchy melodies. But whether he’s singing about love, struggle, or resilience, there’s an honesty in his voice that makes each song feel lived-in. There’s a clear reverence for Afropop, but also a sleekness pulled from contemporary R&B, all threaded together with introspective lyrics and unshakable hooks.

Round The Clock
was made in collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer EJ FYA, known for his work with Burna Boy. The production is lush and energetic, but never overshadows Veech’s presence.

For Veech, this project is a marker of where he’s been and a sign of where he’s headed. It’s a reminder that music can carry both joy and pain, and still make you want to move.
