The Black Stallions of Nigeria, the country’s renowned Rugby 7s team, have unveiled their formidable 12-man squad for the Africa Cup 7s Tournament, a crucial qualifier for the Paris Olympic Games. Coach Steve Lewis has made strategic changes to the team, raising anticipation for a spectacular performance as they face off against strong rivals from Kenya, Namibia, and Zambia in Pool B. The tournament is set to unfold at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe on September 16th and 17th, 2023.

The Squad Selection:

In a bid to bolster the team’s capabilities, Coach Steve Lewis has incorporated three notable changes to the squad. Richard Adeniyi-Jones, a forward player known for his dynamic style, joins the lineup. Additionally, two seasoned playmakers, Aristide Goualin and Ogheneloyeme Macaulay, have been enlisted to provide strategic depth and experience.

Of particular interest is Aristide Goualin, who makes a triumphant return to the Stallions 7s squad after debuting in the 2011 Africa Cup 7s held in Morocco. His presence is expected to bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.
