South Africa made history during a nail-biting match at the Rugby World Cup by becoming the first side to win four world titles, sending supporters into a frenzy of celebration across the globe. The fact that New Zealand’s captain, Sam Cane, was given a red card, which changed the outcome of the final, added even more significance to their impressive 12-11 triumph against their fierce rival.

Tennis legend, Roger Federer was at the Stade de France to witness this historic event. He was accompanied by his wife, Mirka, and their four kids, dressed in green, to cheer on the winning South African squad. The bearer of the coveted rugby trophy, Federer, a dual citizen of South Africa and Switzerland, looked happy as they kept their crown.

The 42-year-old tennis superstar has a profound fondness for the South African national rugby side, the Springboks. Federer has previously communicated with the team in private before important games, such as the most recent World Cup final, to provide his encouragement and support. The athlete has a strong bond with South Africa, having visited the nation on multiple occasions for family vacations as well as for his philanthropic endeavors.

Federer’s contagious exuberance echoed across the stadium as the final whistle blew and South Africa triumphed, securing their third consecutive one-point victory after thrilling matches against France and England. The tennis star joined supporters in celebrating this historic accomplishment by the Springboks with a hearty round of applause and emotional cheers.

South Africa’s triumph in the Rugby World Cup solidifies its status as a rugby powerhouse but also appraises its name in the annals of sporting history.
