The first thing to understand about 4batz is that none of this should work, at least not on paper. A masked R&B singer from Dallas, pitching his vocals into helium territory over lo-fi beats, singing about romance. But somehow, it does work. And nowhere is that clearer than on “N Da Morning,” an emotionally sticky track.

4batz moves like someone who doesn’t want to be figured out too fast. His breakout moment, Act II: Date @ 8, blew up off TikTok, carried by a syrupy falsetto and that now-signature line about showing up in a Hellcat. Since then, he’s managed to keep the mystery going while slowly revealing that behind the memes and internet stardom, there’s actually a fully-formed artist in there.

“N Da Morning” is short, just under two minutes, and completely unconcerned with traditional structure. Built on a skeletal beat and a distant guitar loop, it finds 4batz spinning low-stakes intimacy into something cute, simple and sweet. The lyrics float by like inside jokes: small, sweet, mumbled to someone who’s probably still in bed. It’s a record about morning sex, but it doesn’t quite sound completely like it. It’s hushed and intimate, almost devotional in tone. The lyrics are direct, but the delivery is so soft it blurs the edges. Everything in the song feels like it’s happening five seconds after waking up, when the light is starting to creep in but you’re still caught in the dream.
