A 24-woman Super Falcons squad has been announced ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) that commences on July 5 in Morocco.

Released on Friday, June 20, the list includes familiar faces such as Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, reigning Africa Goalkeeper of the Year Chiamaka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale, and Michelle Alozie. Also notable is the inclusion of six-time record CAF Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala and Ashleigh Plumptre, both of whom were absent from the Falcons’ friendly against Cameroon in Ogun State earlier in June.

The Super Falcons already began their training for WAFCON 2025 in Abuja on Thursday. The nine-time African champions are billed to depart for Lisbon, Portugal, on Sunday for the continuation of intensive preparations where they are scheduled to play two high-profile friendly matches against Portugal on June 23, and against Ghana’s Black Queens in Morocco on June 29.

Dubbed Mission X, the Super Falcons’ campaign in Morocco is a push for a record-extending tenth WAFCON title.
Their journey begins in Group B, where they face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria.
