Africa’s biggest reality television show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), has kicked off with two launch shows. First, on Saturday, longtime host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu ushered 15 female housemates into the house for the new season. On Sunday night, 14 male housemates followed, bringing the total to 29 housemates who will battle for the grand prize of N150 million, the biggest in the show’s history since it first aired in 2006.

As is the show’s tradition, each housemate, in pre-recorded tapes and on stage, promised to deliver fun and drama to win the prize. With nearly 30 housemates in the house, it might be difficult to keep up with all of them. Here are the housemates and all to know about them:

1. Mide

Mide is a 23-year-old entrepreneur from Ondo State with big dreams of launching an acting career. She says she’s fun, flirty, and always watching. Despite her bold personality, she has trust issues that come from lived experience, and she’s expected to play her game in the Big Brother house accordingly.

2. Sultana

Sultana is a 25-year-old model from Adamawa State. She says what sets her apart is her unpredictability, and she’s ready to use it as a weapon to play and win the game. Sultana tells viewers to expect plenty of drama from her.

3. Big Soso

Big Soso is a 28-year-old chef and lawyer from Kaduna State. She’s on a mission to bridge the gap between the North and the rest of Nigeria by representing strength, resilience, and beauty. “I want young girls to see that you can be a boss and still hold it down at home,” Big Soso says, on striking a balance between chasing one’s dreams and maintaining tradition. Most importantly, she is playing to win the big prize.

4. Tracy

Tracy is a 27-year-old graduate trainee from Anambra State who’s choosing to hit pause on the pressure and hit play on living. After years of chasing goals, battling comparisons, and being misunderstood, she’s ready to break free, let loose, and have real fun in the Big Brother house. She thinks relationships are a sham, but she’s loyal in love. She hopes humour and honesty can help her win the coveted prize.

5. Ivatar

At 37, Ivatar says she is not just in the Big Brother house to compete, but also to remind everyone who sets the standard. The Anambra main character is a mum, TV presenter, and DJ. Ivatar looks forward to bringing a fresh aesthetic to the house and playing to win.

6. Sabrina

Sabrina is a 32-year-old economist from Edo State. With a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a passion for storytelling, she hopes to represent every multifaceted woman who’s ever been told she’s “too much.”

7. Thelma Lawson

Thelma Lawson is a 26-year-old businesswoman from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Besides her business acumen, she says she’s a straight talker who calls a spade a spade, and she will serve honesty in the house. Although Thelma Lawson is single, she doesn’t expect to be in any ship; she wants to focus on playing the game and winning the money.

8. Imisi

Imisi is 23 and from Oyo State. She says she is in the Big Brother house to win while serving style, vulnerability, and a little “it is what it is” energy. She also tells viewers to expect sharp takes and sharper comebacks from her. In short, Imisi says what you’re thinking, just louder.

9. Ibifubara

Ibifubara is a 28-year-old psychologist from Lagos State. She says while she serves brains, she won’t hesitate to unleash chaos whenever necessary. In her words: “I’m a serious babe, but I also like to have fun.” Ibifubara could be thinking about going for her PhD after the show but has declared herself the party throughout her stay in the Big Brother house.

10. Isabella

Isabella is a 29-year-old entrepreneur from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She says she’s bringing heart and heat to the Big Brother house and asks viewers to brace for impact. Single by choice, Isabella is looking for her perfect match in the house, but she is in it for the money, totally.

11. Joanna

Joanna, a 21-year-old model and Benue native, says she’s bringing dance, quiet storm energy, and savage truths to the house. So, viewers can expect a housemate that won’t hesitate to stir the pot to gain an advantage in the game. “Slightly chaotic” is how Joanna describes herself, so chaos is not out of the question for this housemate.

12. Dede

Twenty-three-year-old Dede from Delta State believes that she belongs in the spotlight, and she promises to play the game with all of that confidence. Not afraid to drop the hard truths, she says she’s in the house for the exposure, plot twists, and the money. Oh, and viewers shouldn’t expect Dede to get into a ship in Big Brother’s house—she’s currently in a relationship that “feels right.”

13. Doris

Self-described main character Doris is a 34-year-old housemate from Imo State. She says she brings laughter, emotions, and vibes into every room she enters, and the Big Brother house won’t be an exception. Single and feisty, Doris thinks relationships are “exhausting” and wants to focus all her energy on playing and winning the N150 million game.

14. Zita

Zita is a 24-year-old model and actress from Ogun State who walked into the Big Brother house with “confidence and chaos in perfect balance.” She says she is strong-willed, dramatic, and deeply self-aware—qualities she believes she needs to stand a chance to win the big prize. Notably, Zita has never been in a relationship, so don’t expect a ship from her. Lastly, she won’t fake it for the camera, so what you see is what you get.

15. Gigi Jasmine

Gigi Jasmine, 31, from Akwa Ibom, jockeys discs for a living, and she hopes to bring her DJ skills to bear in the house, jockeying her way to N150 million. This Abuja-based DJ describes herself as gorgeous, witty, loud, and kinda trustworthy. She’s another housemate you’ll likely never catch in a Big Brother romance.

16. Koyin

At 21, Koyin is the youngest housemate in the Big Brother 10/10 house. From Ogun State, he is a model, and he is tall, dark, and confident, according to Ebuka. Announcing himself to viewers, Koyin boldly claims, “There’s no room I’ll enter that you won’t look. It’s not pride, it’s reality.” He says he’s bringing vibes from the street. “We’re gonna show them,” Koyin, the “omo get inside” from the trenches, said on stage.

17. Danboskid

Danboskid is a 25-year-old from Ekiti State, and he’s coming with no specific strategy. “I don’t have a strategy. My life is enough to be a strategy,” he declares. His love for the show peaked during the Lockdown season of 2020 when he backed former housemate and winner, Laycon, for the win. He’s hoping to pull a Laycon for the prize this season. Oh, and he says he doesn’t chase girls; they can come get him if they want him. In Danboskid’s words: “If you want me, you come get me.”

18. Bright Morgan

Bright Morgan, 27, from Imo State, may not be the first Nollywood actor on the BBNaija stage, but he may be the first one who’s also a gym rat and cook. Although he says he is a “hopeless romantic,” he doesn’t plan to fall in love with any housemate in the house because he’s “already in love.” For Bright Morgan, who says he’s unpredictable, it’s eyes on the prize.

19. Rooboy

“Wahala” was the most common word Rooboy used on stage as he was introduced to the BBNaija viewers. The 29-year-old hypeman from Ogun State promises to bring trouble to anywhere he goes in the house. And he doesn’t trust anybody in this game of betrayal and chance. “I no fit trust anybody. It’s a sin for me to trust anybody,” Rooboy says. He hopes to play a ruthless game to win the grand prize.

20. Faith

Faith, 25, from Ogun State, is a doctor and augmented reality creator. His strategies are to have fun and try not to get evicted. “I’m someone who can command a room with silence or spark gbas gbos with a single line,” Faith says. The new housemate, who was quick to give out his jacket on stage on launch night, will hope that the room-commanding effect works on his fellow housemates and viewers.

21. Kaybobo

Kaybobo, 26, from Ekiti State, is a professional American football (not soccer) player who hopes his athleticism gives him an edge over other housemates. Unlike Rooboy, who is not ready to trust any housemate, the football player is big on trust. “I’m big on honesty. I trust people, and I like people to trust me,” he says. But he’s also not a preacher of love. “I’m a terminator. I’m here to destroy ships,” he says on stage, so you can expect some spicy drama from him.

22. Denari

Denari, 27, from Anambra, says he is funny, unfiltered, and finally getting his shot to take the Big Brother house by storm and serve non-stop drama to viewers. He says he mimics accents like a pro and lives for food, football (soccer, now), and flexing his zero-commitment energy, so the drama might never end with this one in the house. Single and not ready for commitment, Denari is playing the game as a free bird.

23. Kayikunmi

Kayikunmi, 25, is a banker and hails from a royal family in Ekiti State. He promises to show love and critical thinking skills to win the big prize. Kayikunmi, who has a twin brother, says he has every intention of pursuing romance in the house. “I’ll move to a fine girl in the house and ask for a relationship,” he says. The banker wants to use polo as a strategy to win by showing love and following the rules. But Kayikunmi is ready to break relationships, friendships, and anything he needs to do to win.

24. Victory

Victory, 28, from Akwa Ibom, is a psychologist and taxi man. His strategy for the game is to be himself, but that means more than meets the eye. “The strategy is to be myself. Myself is love. Myself is chaos. I like to argue,” Victory says. With this housemate, you can expect chaos and lots of arguments over even the most basic things.

25. Jason Jae

Jason Jae, 29, from Ondo State, is a musician, creative director, and massage therapist. He doesn’t promise not to betray his fellow housemates to get ahead in the game because “they are not my friends.” “I’m very competitive,” Jason Jae adds. “I don’t need people to be fun. I’m the fun.” He also says he’s very good at strip-dancing and gives the best erotic massages. It will be interesting for viewers to see how Jason Jae deploys those skills in the house.

26. Kola

Kola, 28, is a quality analyst from Ekiti State. He describes himself as a social butterfly, making him the perfect fit for life in the house. His main strategy is to use other housemates’ games to play his own game. “Observe how people move and return their energy,” he says. And Kola doesn’t mind betraying anyone if it’s necessary for him to win. “Drama doesn’t follow me; I escort it,” he promises on stage.

27. Otega

Otega, a 33-year-old chef from Delta State, says he is a mirror, and the energy he gets from housemates determines how he relates with them. “I’m a mirror. I’m what you want me to be,” he says. Otega doesn’t mince words on his views regarding trust in the house: “Nobody is your friend in the house. If I have to step on someone to win, I will do it.”

28. Kuture

Kuture, 27, is a fashion designer from Kogi State. Now an Ajegunle boy on Lagos Mainland, he embraces the street and promises to bring vibes and quality content to viewers. Kuture says he is very real and thinks his personality will help him get ahead. But it’s eyes on the prize, not love, for the designer. “Love no help anybody. I no go there for love. Na money dey sustain love,” he says in Pidgin English.

29. Mensan

The last housemate to enter the BBNaija 10/10 house, Mensan is 29 and representing Rivers State with swagger, ginger, and mic-drop moments, he promises. He says that he clocks games fairly easily, a quality he expects will help him get far in the house. Mensan adds that he’s in the house for clean energy and the money, not for fake friendships, clout, or betrayal.
