Two generational Mavin stars, Ayra Starr and Rema, finally drop their hotly anticipated joint single, “Who’s Dat Girl,” building on their electric synergy from past stage moments.
Nigerian rap’s master provocateur, Blaqbonez, drops his highly anticipated album, No Excuses. The tracklist is an ambitious sonic patchwork, featuring cross-continental link-ups with UK rappers AJ Tracey and Pa Salieu, promising a deeper exploration of “growth, resilience, and unapologetic self-expression” following his successful 2023 release, Emeka Must Shine.
Afrobeats star Zlatan releases his new studio album, Symbol of Hope, a project he’s reportedly been perfecting for over a year to ensure the right storytelling. The album is a carefully curated victory lap, featuring collaborations that span his career arc: a lively reunion with mentor Olamide, a co-sign from titan Davido, and feature slots for rising stars like Qing Madi and FOLA.
Similarly, Patoranking is looking backward to move forward with his new single, “No Jonze.” The track, which serves as the lead-off for his forthcoming fifth studio album, is an explicit homage to Galala music, the percussive, dance-led sound of the Lagos suburb of Ajegunle that shaped him.
On the other side of the new-wave Afrobeats spectrum, Brown Joel solidifies his solo pivot with his debut project, the mixtape High Spirit.
Moliy and global pop sensation Tyla release “Body Go,” a collaboration that highlights the successful convergence of Ghana’s smooth R&B/Afrobeats (Moliy) and South Africa’s global amapiano/pop hybrid (Tyla).
