Cassi Evicted From BBNaija Season 11 As Ebuka Rocks The Ships

For the second week in a row, it was a lone eviction night on Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11, as Cassi became the latest housemate shown the exit on Sunday, August 23.

Not long into the show, longtime host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu called out Cassi’s name and told him he was the next housemate to leave the “Show Ya Sef” house. Despite teasing more evictions to come as the night went on, none did.

Cassi polled 5.27 per cent to finish at the bottom of the nominated housemates, while Goddessa, who scored 6.76 per cent, narrowly survived on a night Big Brother chose to send only one housemate home.

The 27-year-old entrepreneur and actor from Abia State entered the house describing himself as unbothered and confident, with talents ranging from painting to chiropractic therapy and a self-professed love for order that he admitted could land him in trouble. That instinct appeared to serve him well for most of his run; he had survived previous rounds of public voting, including a Week 2 scare after Head of House Sheba used her veto power to swap him onto the nomination list in Chimsom Chuka’s place. His exit on Sunday brings that run to an end.

But beyond Cassi’s eviction, the most captivating moment of the night came when Ebuka pressed Bells about what was really going on in her relationship with Yusuf, asking for clarity on whether the two had been intimate. Confronting her with earlier conversations in which other housemates suggested Yusuf had “entered” her, Bells denied any real intimacy between them, insisting her comments had been a joke. Then came the bombshell: Yusuf cut in, telling Ebuka that the two had, in fact, had sex on the show. “Ebuka, it [sex] has happened,” he said, even as Bells continued to deny any intimate affair between them. Pressed further on timing, he added: “[It happened] very recently.”

Ebuka also stirred up other tangled relationships in the house, starting with Barry’s situation with Goddessa, who is currently coupled up with Araga. The host asked Barry why he’d chosen Goddessa to share the Head of House (HoH) lounge with him — a request she turned down. Barry explained that the move was a test, meant to confirm whether Goddessa was fully committed to Araga or whether he still stood a chance with her. He apparently got his answer, though the love triangle continues to dominate house conversation.

Ricky’s situation with Sheba also came up. The pair have had several tense exchanges in recent days, with Sheba telling Ricky on Saturday to leave her alone and act as though she isn’t in the house. But on Sunday, Ricky suggested to Ebuka that he isn’t ready to back off just yet, even while acknowledging that Sheba has a boyfriend outside the house. “I think I want to stop sometimes, but when I look at her every day, I’m like, ‘maybe I should go again,’” he said, as Sheba looked on, expressionless.

Temi and Keivo’s situation also drew Ebuka’s attention. Asked why he’s been so unsettled by things with Temi, Keivo said he was disappointed to learn that the woman he’d been getting to know had kissed another housemate, Tram. When Ebuka suggested he may have simply taken too long to make his move, Keivo pushed back, insisting it’s simply his nature to get to know someone before opening up. “I’m not that kind of person [who is quick to intimacy]. I don’t just meet people and then try to engage with them in intimate positions… I like to get to know people before I share my energy,” he said.

With Temi repeatedly expressing a wish to patch things up with him, where things go from here between the two remains uncertain, especially with Tram still very much lurking in the background.
