BET has just announced their nominations for this year’s Hip-Hop Awards. Set to be held live in Atlanta on October 3rd, the 18th annual awards show will showcase hiphop’s leading stars. The ceremony will premiere on October 10th at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.

Representing the African music scene, Burna Boy stands tall as the sole Nigerian artist on the nominations list. His immense impact on the genre has rightfully earned him a spot in this year’s awards, as he secured a whopping seven nominations, placing him among the top contenders. His nominations include:

1. Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year

2. Song of the Year – “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” ft. 21 Savage

3. Best Hip-Hop Video – “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” ft. 21 Savage 

4. Best Collaboration – “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” ft. 21 Savage

5. Best Live Performer 

6. Lyricist of the Year 

7. Hustler of the Year

This year’s nominations include a diverse crowd of proven veterans, rising rookies, thriving producers, and overseas leaders.

Considering all his hard work in the past months, the African Giant is deserving of these nominations.
