Rema, popular Afrobeats sensation, has decided to take a breather for December, putting his health first. In an Instagram story, the “Calm Down” artist shared that after years of touring, he’s realised that it is time to focus on his well-being.

This shift in plans comes just after Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, revealed exciting plans for a grand Homecoming Music Concert on December 21 to celebrate Rema.

Despite the success of his tours in Europe, Asia, and North America, Rema’s sudden decision to step back is a setback for his scheduled homecoming tour in Abuja, Lagos, and Benin this December. Additionally, he was set to headline the Hey Neighbour Music Festival in South Africa from December 8 to December 10.

Realising the strain that non-stop touring can put on both body and mind, megastar Davido praised Rema for his immense contributions and encouraged him to prioritise self-care.

The Rave Lord promised to return in 2024.
