Burna Boy breaks record as the first Nigerian artist with two RIAA platinum plaques as a lead artist as his global hit track, “Last Last”, receives RIAA platinum plaque.
It reached the sales and streaming equivalent of 1,000,000 units sold in the US and is the fastest Afrobeats song to be certified Gold and Platinum in the United States, surpassing 500,000 units in just 25 weeks and 1,000,000 units in 9 months.
The song was released in May 2022 and appeared on the African Giant’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini. It has spent nineteen weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 where it peaked at #44 and thirty-seven weeks on the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at #4.
The song’s official music video, which was self-directed by the singer, has surpassed 171 million views on YouTube.
