Editi Effiong’s first feature film will make its Netflix debut on September 22nd. Produced and directed by the Nigerian filmmaker, The Black Book, details a story of buried vendettas. The plot follows a man seeking justice after a group of corrupt policemen murder his son.

Nollywood veteran, Richard Mofe Damijo plays the lead role with assistance from other cast members such as Denola Gray, Alex Usifo Omiagbo, Sam Dede, Shaffy Bello, Ireti Doyle, Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Olumide Oworu, Femi Branch, Ade Laoye, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Patrick Doyle, Bimbo Manuel, Kelechi Udegbe, and Nobert Young.

The Black Book is one of the seven movies and shows, including Aníkulápó: The Series and Ólòtūré: The Series, that will be making their debut on Netflix between this year and 2024.

This announcement came after the platform’s first exclusive talent appreciation event in Nigeria, dubbed Lights, Camera…Nigeria!
